The Danish Red High-Speed Train.
Special exhibition until 31 December 2011.
On 14 May 1935 the Little Belt Bridge opened and Danish Rail started to use its new trains, popularly called the "Red High-Speed Trains". The duration of a trip between the various parts of Denmark was significantly reduced from that day on - and the comfort of the trip took a huge leap forward, as travellers could now keep their seats on the same train for the entire trip from Copenhagen to Aarhus, for instance. As the same red high-speed train unit was used throughout the trip, passengers no longer had to rush to get a good seat when changing modes of transport for crossing the Great Belt and the Little Belt. |
